As I see it from my front porch swing: Blog Post 2
As a continuation of our study of the cross and
resurrection...this year I have had a move of my heart
towards gratefulness. I don’t know what God showed you
this Resurrection season, but He is teaching me to be so
grateful for Jesus, His work on the cross and His glorious
resurrection! Don’t get me wrong, I have always had a
deep gratitude for Jesus’ death for my sins. But this
year...God has opened my eyes to so much more.
I have learned there is power in gratitude! And that
power has ultimately made me happier and more
hopeful!
I have found when I am operating in a mind of gratitude,
it leads me to an overall feeling of optimism! I don’t know
how you are, but a lot of people are not optimistic. They
have to work at having a positive outlook. I have found
that if I start off being grateful, then my day follows a
much better route. So, before my feet hit the floor, I first
thank God for letting me wake up! I thank Him for my
many blessings, for my home, my children, my husband,
Wallers, and for the country I am so blessed to live in.
When I start my day out like this, I find I am more
equipped to handle life’s ups and downs. I tend to bounce
back more easily from whatever life wants to throw my
way.
You see, this power of gratitude can turn my otherwise
bad day into a really good day! It makes me look at my
life in a different way, through “different lens”. It kind of
reboots my spirit, makes me more joyful!
